Emyr Lewis

Emyr Lewis passed away peacefully, with family at his side.  He is survived by his beloved wife Margaret, sons Neil (Deb), Tim (Michelle), Nigel, his grandchildren Mike (Jen), Alex (Olivia), Riley, Kyla, Emma, his great-grandchildren Tyler, Lily, Violet, his younger sister Liz (John) Fry in Newport, Wales, and numerous nieces, nephews, and their families in Wales and England.

Emyr was born into a dairy & sheep farming family in Wales, UK. He met and married Margaret in 1964 and they remained on the home farm milking cows until 1978 when they moved with their 3 sons to Smeaton Wood Farm, Cheshire, England and continued to build a fine milking herd.  In 1983, Emyr & Margaret bravely left their family and friends moving their sons again, but this time across the world to Smeaton Farms in Dorchester, Ontario where they quickly became a well-known dairy farming family in the community.

When he wasn’t working on the farm with his sons, you could guarantee that Emyr had found someone to chat with. He made many friends throughout the next 42 years here. Emyr always had a sharp sense of humour and no conversation was ever missing a smile and a laugh. He will be truly missed by many.

The family would like to thank everyone at Mount Hope Centre for Long Term Care, especially the staff on Marian Villa 3, for the kindness and care of Emyr which has been greatly appreciated.

Cremation has taken place. At Emyr’s request, there will be no formal service.
