Doris Gaudet
November 10, 2025
With family by her side, at Kensington Village in London, Ontario, on November 10, 2025, Doris Gaudet, in her 104th year, passed away peacefully.
Born in Shemogue, New Brunswick, Doris was the daughter of the late Patrick and Justine (Babineau) Melanson. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Adrian, and her dear son George.
Loving mother of Patrick (Faye), George (Heather), Doug (Lorie), and Bob (Lynne).
Adored grandmother of Sean (Annick), Scott (Amanda), Ryan (Madison), Sara (Jason), Adrian (Lexie), Aaron, and Melanie.
Cherished great-grandmother of Sarah, Noah, Kristal, Brandon, Riley, Shaelyn, Kalea, and Mateo.
Predeceased by her sisters Sarah, Alma, Rita, and Annie, and by her brothers Leo and Armand. She will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbours.
Doris was known for her kindness, selflessness, and her gift for cooking, baking, and hospitality. She loved to open her home to family and friends and was always ready to help anyone in need. Her neighbours were her second family, and she was affectionately known in her community as Grandma Doris.
A wonderful listener, Doris was genuinely interested in the lives of others. She was also a gifted storyteller who loved to share memories of her life growing up on a farm in New Brunswick, travelling the world with Adrian during their years as a military family, and the many colourful experiences they shared together.
Her recipes remain cherished family treasures, though few can match her touch. Her secret ingredients were always love, care, and patience — in both her baking and her relationships.
Doris will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all whose lives she touched.
“Love creates a bond that time cannot break. When someone you love becomes a memory, that memory becomes a lasting treasure.”
We are rich in our memories of our time with Doris.
A celebration of Doris’s life will be held in the spring of 2026. Time and place to be announced.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff at Kensington Village Long Term Care in London. Doris felt deeply loved and cared for by everyone there — a true blessing for her and her family.
Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Doris are asked to consider the Canadian Veterans Association, the Royal Canadian Legion, the Salvation Army, or a charity of their choice.

Grandma Doris was such a kind loving woman. She was friends with my grandma but treated me like I was one of her own family members. I have such fond memories of being at her house as a child, going for coffee breaks and going to run errands. She always had a smile on her face and was such a gem. Rest in peace, Grandma Doris. I am forever grateful I was able to meet a woman like you. Sending much love to the family xo
