Margery Sherritt (née Shillington)
August 29, 1927 - April 7, 2026
Marnie Sherritt, born and raised in London, Ontario, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2026 at the age of 98. She will be deeply missed by her daughter Beth, son-in-law Ken, her daughter-in-law Leticia and her grandchildren, Jason, Jesse, Johnny, Janine, Joey and Julia. Marnie was predeceased by her husband Ralph, her son John, her parents Muriel and Alan Shillington, her sisters Connie and Jean, and brother Ted.
Marnie was a proud graduate of Western University, class of 1947, and remained a lifelong believer in the value of education. She was also an active member of the Canadian Federation of University Women – London club.
Marnie was a committed volunteer. She was Co-Chair of the Transportation Working Group of the Age-Friendly London Network. For her dedication, she received the Ontario Senior Achievement Award for community service, in 2015. She was a long-standing board member of the Council of London Seniors, and a Western Fair community section volunteer. Marnie was member of the Thames Valley Children’s Centre auxiliary group, where she met her BFF’s group. Marnie was also a longtime member of the London Curling Club. She enjoyed swimming, gardening, reading, knitting, painting, and completing crosswords keep her mind sharp. She was always curious and open to learning something new, no matter her age.
Marnie will be remembered dearly and missed immensely by all who knew and loved her.
As per Marnie‘s wishes, there will be no service. Cremation has taken place.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to your favourite charity.
