Peacefully, surrounded and embraced by his family, Andrea Antonio Ripepi passed at Tillsonburg Hospital on February 26, 2024, in his 85th year.
Beloved husband of Angela for 57 years and devoted Pop to his five children, Cindy (Brian), Joe (Lea), Domenico (Mersiha), Annette, and Adriana (Darren). Much-loved Nonno to his ten grandchildren Natasha (Kyle), Bradley (Melissa), Jordan (Vivian), Daniel, Amanda, Alec (Katy), Noah (Cam), Dylan (Shannon), Isaac and Vincenzo. Doting Primo Nonno to his five great grandchildren, Luna, Mylah, Domenic, Sheppard and Sadie.
Andrea is survived by his sister Anna, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Giuseppe and Domenica, and his siblings: Antonia (Francesco), Vincenzo (Carmela), Maria (Giuseppe) and Andrea.
A well-dressed man of few words, Andrea always led by example. Living off the land in the city, he was an expert gardener and wine maker who lived by the philosophy of sustainability. He was a great bread and pizza baker and enjoyed eating and drinking with his family and friends. With a tremendous work ethic and unrelenting drive, he approached the several jobs he worked throughout his life, ending his career with the London District Catholic School Board. In everything he did, he put family first, and his greatest legacy is the family he built with Angela. His children, grandchildren and great grandchildren reflect his greatest attributes and are honoured to continue his traditions. Andrea will be remembered as a generous person who worked hard, loved to laugh, and would do anything for his family.
The family is tremendously grateful to the care provided by Brenda, Holly, and Remi that allowed Andrea to be at home in his final months.
Those who wish to pay their condolences may do so by attending the visitation at Northview Funeral Chapel, 1490 Highbury Avenue North, London, on Sunday, March 3, 2024 from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. The family will hold a prayer service in the funeral home at 7:00 p.m. The funeral mass will take place at St. Michael’s Parish, 511 Cheapside Street, London on Monday March 4, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. A private family interment has been arranged at St. Peter’s Cemetery, London.
The family has requested donations to World Vision Canada and London Food Bank in lieu of flowers.
