Arthur “Art” Cyril Paquette

January 24, 2024

Suddenly on Wednesday, January 24th, 2024 at LHSC – University Campus, Arthur Cyril Paquette passed away at the age of 80. Survived by his wife of 60 years, Charlene, his son, Michael (Rocky) and his Granddaughter, Mykaela Barbosa (Paulo). Predeceased by his daughter, Michaeline (Chris Newton).

Art loved the family pets: Daisy, Gwen, Brody and Aspen. Art was an avid sportsman from an early age. He played competitive hockey, baseball & enjoyed track & field. In later years, he enjoyed playing golf with his family.

Special thanks to the ICU staff at University Hospital for their expertise & compassion at a difficult time.

Art’s family wishes to extend their heart-felt thanks to the staff of the McCormick Home Daycare Program. Art enjoyed many happy hours there in his final days.

A private family memorial will take place. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation in memory of Art are asked to consider McCormick Dementia Services or the Humane Society of London Middlesex.

Dear Charlene, We enjoyed getting to spend time with you and Art when the boys played for the Old Sports. Jim would say, I can't believe I'm playing hockey with Art Paquette. Our thoughts are with you and your family.

Charlene & family - I was sorry to hear of Art's passing. I have many great memories of playing hockey with him with the East London Old Sports for many years. He was always a great competitor and a better teammate. The Old Sports remember him as a key member of our group. Rest in Peace Art.

One of my fondest memories growing up was attending the CNRA Nationals JR B hockey games in the old barn at Queen's Park. Packed to the wooden rafters, thick with cigarette smoke, raucous crowd, raucous hockey. But we had one of the most exciting lines you ever saw, The French Line, long before the Sabre's one, Gilles St Jacques, Butch Bouchard and Art Paquette. Thanks Arty. Sincere Condolences to the Paquette Family.
