Bjarni Tryggvason

We are deeply saddened to announce the sudden passing of Bjarni Tryggvason on April 5th 2022, at the age of seventy-six.

Bjarni is survived by his wife Lilyanna and their children Michael (Samantha) and Lauren (Jeremy). Bjarni was predeceased by his parents Sveinbjorg and Svavar, his brothers Gustav and Svavar, and sister Olof. Bjarni’s passion was flying. He was a skilled pilot/test pilot, meteorologist, engineer, researcher, instructor, and astronaut. He was an integral and inspirational member of his family and community, with many dear friends and colleagues around the world. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all those who have supported our family during this difficult time.

A green burial and celebration of life have taken place.
