Carolyn Charlotte Riley

April 15, 1954 - May 15, 2020

RILEY, Carolyn (Carol) – We are deeply saddened to report the passing of Carol on May 15, 2020. It is the heartfelt loss to her husband Harvey of 46 years and her daughters, Julie (Stevan) and Lisa (Stu) and her grandchildren Riley Taylor, Jakob Glass and Charlotte Fazekas and Niece Sherri Wylie.

Born April 15, 1954 in Stratford, ON, she is the daughter of Norval and Emma Roesner and sister to Linda (d. 2018) (Ken Clarke), Ray, Judy, Michael (Linda), Pat (Allen Ruttan), Carmen (Julia), Cindy (Matt Patterson) and David (Debbie). She will also be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews.

Carol grew up in the Huron-Perth area with her family before moving to London and St. Thomas with her husband. Carol worked at Clevite, Eaton Yale and Premco in St. Thomas. Carol was supportive of her local Union and made many friends in the community. Carol advocated for many people in her life and was particularly passionate about providing support for those who were trying to make their lives better and encouraged them to reach for opportunities. Carol suffered from Alzheimer’s at an early age and succumbed to cancer in the end.

Due to COVID-19 a celebration of life with be held at a later date. Cremation has taken place. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society London & Middlesex or the Canadian Cancer Society.

A very special thank you to the Nurses, PSWs, Support Staff and Cleaners at Chartwell (Blackwater Road) in London who provided care and compassion for my Mother’s care.

Harv, Jules, & Lisa ( & families). I am so sorry. I am so blessed & honored to have been a piece of Carol's circle of life. She was such a blessing in my life...like a warm hug! I will so miss her frank words of wisdom and her incredible wit. Sometimes in life you never know the value of a moment until it becomes a vivid memory. She was such a great girl, & I loved her deeply. She knows how deeply she was loved! May you truly rest in peace, beautiful! I will miss you! All my love, Jenn xo
