VAN DOORNE, Catharine – Surrounded by her loving family, Catharine Van Doorne passed away with dignity at the age of 94 on Wednesday, February 16, 2022. Catharine was predeceased by her husband Frank Van Doorne (1994). Cherished mother of Antoinette (Bill) Wilson of London, the late Elizabeth Van Doorne (2016) and Kate (Roy) Van Doorne Lachance of Victoria. Loving grandmother of Brian (Jacqueline McKinnon) Wilson and David (Monica Fletcher) Wilson of London. Catharine had a special place in her heart for her great-grandchildren Adam, Camille, Robin, Mya and Lily.

We would like to thank the staff and health professionals that cared for Catharine at Henley Place for their compassion and care.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, February 26 at Northview Funeral Chapel and Cremation Centre, 1490 Highbury Avenue North, London from 2:00 p.m.– 4:00 p.m. with Words of Remembrance at 3:00 p.m.

Proof of vaccination is required to attend.  Masks or facial coverings will be required at all times due to COVID-19 protocol. Private interment to follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Catharine are asked to consider St. Joseph’s Hospice, London.

So sorry to hear about this but yet thankful she was able to live a full life. We did not know her in early years but Dad always thought it was great to have someone else at Henley who was Dutch. They were able to converse a little and it was a moment of joy for him. May you find peace and comfort in the memories of wonderful days you shared together with her.
