Catherine “Jean” Noyes

February 11, 2023

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Catherine “Jean” Noyes on February 11, 2023 at the Sisters of St. Joseph Hospice in London.

She was a loving wife of the late Robert “Bob” Noyes and dear mother of Brenda (Rick) Green, and John (Cathie) Noyes. Loved by her grandchildren Robert (Sarah) Green, Sean Green, Laura Noyes, Keith (Kali) Noyes, Marie Noyes; and her great grandchildren Vika Green and Karmen Noyes. Cherished sister of Donna (the late Ray) Henry of Glencoe, the late Bertha (the late John) Stalker of West Lorne, Margie (the late Bill) Welch of Glencoe; sister-in-law of the late George (the late Shirley) Noyes of Lucan, Jean (the late Bev) Hodgins of Parkhill, Gerry (Elaine) Noyes of Lucan and the late Donnie Noyes of Denfield. Lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Daughter of the late Mac and Ruby McRae of Glencoe and daughter-in-law of the late George and Margaret Noyes of Denfield.

Mom loved her life, her family and her friends. She was a manager at Tender Tootsies in Glencoe, Mount Brydges and at London Hosiery. She also worked as a full-time bakery clerk at A&P at Adelaide St. and Cheapside St. and on Clarke Rd. in London, she loved every minute of it.

We would like to thank mom’s wonderful doctors and healthcare professionals Dr. Kathleen Gannon, Dr. John Gonder and Julie Duncan, Dr. Foster, Dr. Huizman and Dr. Gerland and staff; Paramed nurse Jermaine Mills; St. Elizabeth P.S.W’s Caroline, Carsiya, Drew, Mercedes and Allysa; Victorian Order of Nurses Sonya; and all of the caring staff and paramedics of London Health Sciences Centre. Thank you also to Hair Effects for 45 years of exceptional service and friendship; and to Tran and her hardworking and dedicated staff at the Sisters of St. Joseph Hospice who took excellent care of mom during her stay with them. We are forever grateful to all these people we call Angels.

Visitation will be held at Northview Funeral Chapel and Cremation Centre, 1490 Highbury Avenue North, London, on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. A private family interment will take place at a later date at St. George’s Cemetery in Denfield.

Memories help sooth our grief. Aunt Jean left us many. Learning to drive in her 50’s. Her long mink coat and matching hat. That special twinkle in her eye when she was dancing with uncle Bob. Picture from New Years 1969!

Brenda and Family, So very sorry to hear of your mom's passing. I was truly blessed to have the opportunity to work with Jean and I enjoyed every minute of my time spent with her! Jean always had a story to tell about her family and friends; regaling us with humorous stories of her shenanigans. I left every visit with Jean with a smile on my face and warmth in my heart. She showed me how to love hard, live fully and laugh often. I hope she is at peace now. Brenda, I know firsthand how wildly proud your mom was of you - I hope that can bring you peace in this difficult time. Julie
