Chad Evan Andrew Townson
May 26, 2026
Unexpectedly at his home on May 26, 2026, Chad Townson passed away at the age of 38. Chad will be dearly missed by his partner Stephanie Sanderson and their daughter Zoe Sanderson-Townson. Loved by his mother Juliane Townson and his step-dad Louis Frangakis, his dad Lonnie Hitchen, as well as his sisters Shelby (Dan) Wolsley and Callie Hitchen (Jimmy Gimbel). Cherished uncle to Aiden, Owen, Eleanor, Henry, Grayson and Rachel. Beloved grandson to Cal and Fran Townson, Pete and M.J. Hitchen, and the late Dimitrios “Jim” and Panyote Frangakis. Nephew to Clayton (Anissa) Townson. Cousin to Luke Townson.
Chad had an outgoing personality, sense of humour and a big smile that endeared him to a lot of people. Growing up he and his friends would go looking for adventures with Chad being the one to take the risks his friends would suggest. His personality suited him to his career choice in hospitality services and hotel management. Chads love of family, especially for his sisters made him overprotective but their fights were epic. In the latter years his medical needs curtailed his activities but it did not stop him being the best dad he could be to Zoe, she was his shining light, always his co-conspirator in their many adventures, known lovingly to Stephanie as the “trouble bubbles.” He will be missed more than we can say and loved more than he probably ever realized.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Chad’s Life will be held at Northview Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 1490 Highbury Avenue North, London on Saturday, June 6, 2026 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. with remembrances at 2:00 p.m.
Memorial donations to Epilepsy Southwestern Ontario in memory of Chad, would be greatly appreciated by the family.

My sincerest condolences to all whom Chad held close to his heart! Chad lived in my neighborhood as a young boy and played with my son, Kodie! They later hooked up and the friendship didn’t skip a beat! When I again meet Chad and was introduced to Stephanie, and Zoe, he couldn’t have been a prouder partner and dad and the same incredibly kind, respectful, and bubbly guy! Rest easy beautiful soul!

Chad was our first grandson and a joy forever. He was a loving boy and a wonderful adult. He cherished all of his family and valued them all. He was an amazing young father to Zoe and partner to Steph and a wonderul uncle to his nieces and nephews. Grandpa and Nannie are heartbroken and despondent, but grateful for the years and wonderful times we had together.

To so many people, Chad was a partner, a father, a son, grandson, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend. Or the guy who could talk endlessly about all the typical nerdy things you can think of. But to Shelby and I, he was our big brother. Chad was protective of us in a way only a big brother can be. I’m pretty sure his exact saying was “no one’s allowed bully you or beat you up… because that’s my job” But Chad always had our back when it mattered tho. Growing up with Chad was exactly what you’d expect from having an older brother but maybe… with a little “extra spice”. We gave him wedgies, he gave us swirlies, we called him pepper head, he called me the lost princess of the islands that they adopted along that way. we... or I smashed a golf club in a car window and blamed it on Chad. -Allegedly. We fought.. a lot. But at the end of the day, Chad was our brother But more than anything, Chad loved his family. He adored Stephanie, his partner of 15 years, And his greatest role was being Zoe’s dad. The love he had for Zoe was endless, and she was the light of his life. Chad’s story doesn’t end here, it lives on in Zoe. I hope you know, Chad, that no matter how much we fought, I always loved you and you will forever be my big brother.
