David Richard Lavender

September 26, 1952 - November 5, 2021

David Lavender passed away peacefully in his sleep, at St. Joseph’s Hospice London, on Friday, November 5th, 2021 at the age of 69.  Beloved husband of Jane (née Campbell) for 44 years. Loving father of Tracey Cronin (Paul) and Chrissy Lavender (Francis Majewski). The best Papa to Jillian, Olivia, and Colin.  Loving brother of Wendy (Randy) and Ron (Colleen); brother-in-law to Delilah (Steve), Rose, Jym (Monique), and John. Predeceased by his parents Kenneth and Dorothy Lavender, his in-laws Peter and Espedita Campbell, his sister Diane (Sam), brother-in-law Chuck (Barb), and sister-in-law Susie.  Also loved by numerous nieces and nephews.

David recently retired from IPEX in London. He was an avid golfer and loved to travel. Over the past few years, David became very enthusiastic about collecting and building LEGO.  He could find a store that sold LEGO anywhere he went.  The grandkids loved coming to visit and always asked to play with it as soon as they came in.

For 15 years, David was a dedicated member of the Listowel Kinsmen Club, as well as spent several years volunteering with the Listowel Big Brothers and Big Sisters organization.

The family would like to thank all the staff and volunteers at St. Joseph’s Hospice in London.

Cremation has taken place.  Friends will be received by the family for a memorial visitation on Tuesday, November 9th, 2021 at Northview Funeral Chapel and Cremation Centre, 1490 Highbury Avenue North, London, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:15 p.m and from 7:00 p.m to 9:15 p.m.  Registration will be required to attend the visitation. Donation in memory of Dave Lavender

I was incredibly saddened to hear of Dave's passing. I had the pleasure of meeting Dave at BATL on Tues Night Blue, and he was always a joyful presence and a great sport. He spoke of his family often and it was obvious how much he loved them and how proud he was. He was over the moon when Tracey was expecting Jillian, and he spoke about his sweet grandbaby all the time! I didn't have the opportunity to see him the past few years, but he would drop me a message from time to time and they always made my day. Dave was a joy to know, and I am so grateful our lives crossed. I'll always remember him with a huge grin on his face, an axe in his hand and a beer in the other :) He was a truly great man, and he will be missed by many.

Janey, Chrissy and Tracey- Christopher, Ryan and Jake and I send you a ton of hugs and luvs. Our lives were all greatly touched by David and we have many many fun memories of times spent with all of you. He loved to laugh and have fun. He was intelligent, fun loving and totally committed to family and friends. We are all feeling sad today and will be getting together as a family to have a drink and “cheers” to his memory. We all shared stories today back and forth in texts. I believe him and Stewy and Snappy will be drinking and golfing and having fun together. Janey, I know you will be feeling sad and alone for awhile. You are a beautiful, wonderful lady and my best friend forever. My heart is very sad for you and really hurts for your loss. Jeez we shared so many good times all together and I am forever thankful for the parties and dinner and good times we all had together. I know I have been far away for along time now, but my love for you has never changed. Big hugs to you and I will see you in the New Year. Xoxoxo Love Sheree Stewart
