My Beloved Dede. You carried a strength and grace unrivalled. Your authentic, genuine nature, my yearning. Your Beauty, matched only inside. You loved others so fiercely you often made my heart cry. You chose me and loved me so completely, so fiercely, it seemed only fair to give you all of me. You brought out the best in those you called yours and in me, I thank you for that. My sweet “Dede Buds” was like a little sister. I remember visiting my cousin Dede the first day her parents brought her home from the hospital 51 years ago. I would always hold and cuddle Dede. Then as Dede got older, she followed me everywhere, confided with me and looked up to me. Over the years, we drifted, but my love and respect for Dede never went away. Dede was a beautiful sister and sister-in-law and the most amazing aunt. She meant the world to us. It broke our hearts to lose her. She did not go alone because a part of us went with her. She had an unrelenting strength. Her candid views on life taught us how important it was to live everyday like it was her last. Dede left us beautiful memories and we will forever cherish our time together. She never judged. She was always there for her family and her friends. Dede loved fiercely. Dede was a loving wife, big hearted sister, caring aunt and beautiful friend. She is one of the most selfless and bravest women we will ever know.
