Dr. Robert Reid (Robin)
June 14, 1953 - December 25, 2025
Dr. Robert (Robin) Reid passed away peacefully on December 25, 2025, surrounded by family.
Born in Lanark, Scotland Robert was the only child of the late Hugh and Margaret Reid (nee Henderson).
Beloved husband of 44 years to Carol, proud father of Jennifer, Robert, David and Pamela. Cherished father-in-law to Todd, Christopher and Sarah. Beloved papa of Braden, Abby, Zack, and Kaleb. Forever missed by several cousins and friends in Scotland.
Robert devoted 50+ years of his life to medicine, specializing in nuclear medicine with an academic interest in the treatment of Neuroendocrine tumors using radioactive isotopes. His passion for helping others – mixed with his endless stories – set him apart in his profession. He was passionate about research initiatives and won several global awards for his involvement in nuclear medicine advancements and global recognition for his contributions in the field. Beyond his passions in medicine his love of aviation archaeology, and British sports cars was a constant passion he shared (willingly or not) with anyone who would listen.
The family would like to extend their deep gratitude to the Palliative Care team at Victoria hospital for their exceptional care in Robert’s final days.
The family extends their heartfelt appreciation to Robert’s colleagues in Nuclear Medicine, who became far more than coworkers – you became family. We are forever grateful for your friendship and unwavering support until the very end.
Additional thanks to the staff at Foxhollow for their supportive care.
A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date and will be live streamed for those who cannot attend in person.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like you to consider donations to the Humane Society London and Middlesex, The Hub at Community Living London or the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum.

I had the absolute pleasure of working with Dr. Reid as a research coordinator for a few years. He had a fantastic sense of humor and we talked a lot about his interests in the osprey population here in London, airplanes, and many other topics. He cared deeply for his patients and worked hard to find the best treatment possible for them. He was an amazing physician and will be greatly missed. Rest in peace.
Our deepest sympathy to you and your family at your time of loss.
So sorry to hear of Dr. Rieds passing. I was his patient beginninh 2000. I haven't seen him in a long time , but I do believe I would not be here if he wasn't for him. He was an amazing physician. My thoughts are with his family during this time.
It was with great sadness to hear of Dr. Reid's passing. My family has said a prayer for the Reid Clan and I know he will be watching over each and every one of you. "Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted." — Matthew 5:4 It has been over 28 years since I had the pleasure of working with him. Yes he loved his cars and Aviation. I used to banter with him about Single engine planes that we flew. The funny thing is that I purchased the aircraft type that he loved in the General aviation realm. I will think of him every time I am up in the air.
Carol, I am so sad to read of Robin’s passing. As your proud flower girl, seeing you both on such a beautiful day, is one of my cherished memories. I loved how he loved you. Your face radiated joy and I loved seeing you shine. You went on to build an incredible life together with amazing children and grandchildren. I am grateful to remain a friend of so many years and send my love to all of you on the loss of an exceptional man, husband, father, grandfather and physician.
Dear Carol and Family, We are saddened by the loss of Robin. We are thinking of you and your family at this difficult time. Robin will always be remembered as a friend, a caring colleague, a compassionate physician, and a pioneer in the area of radionuclide therapy. He was full of enthusiasm, optimism, and the love of life. He was always proud of his lovely family. He was passionate about cars and old aeroplanes. He was particularly compassionate about the fallen missing pilots from the time of war, for whom he went into expeditions finding some of them. Mary and I share your sadness and grief. May God give you and the entire family comfort and fill your hearts with peace.

Dear Reid Family, Words can not ease your hearts at this time . I am truly sorry for the passing of Dr. Reid. I had the pleasure of first meeting this wonderfully friendly, gentle man while working in Nephrology. He was truly a pleasure to get to know. Imagine my joy in finding that when I moved into Nuclear Medicine, there he was, his office directly next to mine. I could be assured of some very interesting, sometimes deep, conversations. Robert had a magnetic personality and was able to spread vast amounts of knowledge through his various interests. His enthusiasm was contagious, he managed to not only interest me in the flight and living habits of the wonderful Osprey, enlighten me on the wars, assist me in finding my Great Uncle's marker and the resting place of his plane, bring renewed interest in planes and (strangely) even in cars. This gentle man was a pleasure to see daily and honestly interested in those around him. His zeal for all was a marvel to behold, the concern for his patients a comfort, his appreciation of his co-workers and colleagues immense and his love for his family truly immeasurable. Thank you for sharing, Dr. Robert Reid. My most sincere condolences on your loss. I hope your memories and stories shared will help to ease your hearts. Shawn
