Elizabeth Mae Walmsley

July 23, 1919 - December 25, 2021

Went to be with her Lord and Saviour Jesus on Dec. 25, 2021, peacefully at Victoria Hospital, in her 103rd year. Predeceased by husband Russell J. Walmsley, sister Janet (Lloyd) Saylor, and son John Walmsley. Survived by children Esther (Wayne) Slavinski, Paul (Doris) Walmsley, and Joy Wilcox; grandchildren Aaron Slavinski, Heather Slavinski, Robyn (Jared) Suderman, Ryan (Raquel) Walmsley, Kurt (Paula) Walmsley, and Beth Wilcox; great grandchildren Arya Walmsley, Luke Suderman, and Felecia and Duane Wilcox, and great-great grandchild Payton Grant.

Betty enjoyed many years of fellowship at Ridgeview Community Church under the pastoral care of Rev. Mike Lee. Her door was always open for family and friends to join her for meals, and tea & cookies. She was always generous with people in need. She had a giving heart, and so her legacy of faith lives on not only through her family but through the many lives touched by her compassion.

Due to Covid concerns, a private interment will be held at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the local charity of your choice.

I had the pleasure of getting to know Betty through working at Shoppers Drug Mart. Betty would visit regularly and was always so pleasant to chat with. As the pandemic hit, our relationship moved to telephone chats monthly. She was always so appreciative speaking with me and I knew our quick chats brightened up her day. I will miss speaking with her, and appreciate getting to know such a wonderful and nice lady. Sending my condolences to the entire family.

To the Walmsley family we are so sorry to hear of your loss. We've known and experienced Betty's love and generosity our entire lives. Going back to London Gospel Temple at 30 Grand Ave we have very fond memories of Betty and her family. It has been so wonderful to reconnect with her these past few years as she attended Ridgeview Community Church. We have no doubt she is rejoicing with her Lord Jesus. Our prayers to the family, Dwight & Karen Honsinger

"Betty was a very special lady. We had the privilege of meeting her when we started attending Ridgeview. She always had a hug for me. I called her my church mom. I made her a corsage for her 100th birthday celebration at the church. It was such an honour for me. Her encouragement to all our family ment so much. She truly wanted all of us to live our best life through God. She will be missed but always remembered. Mary and Terry Smith and family"
