Glenn “Beans” Moore

August 10, 2022

Glenn “Beans” Moore was a beloved husband, father, Pops, brother, uncle, friend, and colleague. He was a devoted sports fan, a guy who could fix anything, and a master behind the barbeque.  He passed away on August 10, 2022 at the age of 70, with his family by his side. Glenn is survived by his wife Linda (née Dekeyser), son Lee Moore (Jeff Orr), daughter Rachel Brady (Greg) and two grandsons, Noel and Finley. He was the brother of Sheila, Judy, Chris, Ross, Jim and late Fred. He was the son of late parents Clifford and Pauline Moore of Castleton, Ontario.  A teller of hilarious stories and tall tales, he is also remembered by his many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A resident of London since 1974, he began his career as a sprinkler-fitter before working as a building equipment operator at Parkwood Hospital for 25 years. He took part in the city’s rec sports scene for many decades, first coaching youth hockey, then chasing down fly balls in his local co-ed slo-pitch league. He was an avid member of the Huff N’ Puff Senior Fitness Association, playing hockey, baseball and bocce ball.

To honour his memory we are holding two celebrations of life instead of a traditional funeral. Please join us to toast Glenn over stories, laughs, photos and his favourite music:

I really Miss Glenn! I had the privilege to help take care of Glenn for a while. One of the funniest memories is when , we were walking in the neighbourhood and there was a really nice Jeep parked on the street. Glenn stopped and looked at me and said “ Let’s steel this and take it for a ride”! He made me laugh often! Great guy! It was truly an honour to know him and call him my friend! I wish miss you! Love the Big Guy!!

He had a calm and friendly way about him, and on the ice, he displayed a joy for the game that was shared by team-mates and foe alike. We were saddened to hear of his passing and offer our condolences to you and your family for your loss. A donation in Glenn’s memory has been made to the Alzheimer Society SWP by the London East Old-Timers Hockey League.
