Harvey Edmund Free

Passed away peacefully in London on Monday, May 25, 2020 at the age of 96 as the result of age-related decline.

Harvey was born in Yarmouth Township in Elgin County on February 15, 1924. He was the son of William J. Free (1976) and Lenora (Holtby, 1985). Loving husband of Margaret (Nichol, 1994) Free and Marjorie (Simm, 2017) Free.

Beloved father of: Jean & Gerald Johnson and Leanne & Jerry Wyatt.

Grandfather and great-grandfather of: David & Dana Johnson; Jennifer & Stephen Black (Carter and Lizzy); Kathryn & Jason Lambert (Jocelyn and Samantha); Murray & Felicia Wyatt (Avan and Owen); Julie Wyatt & Michael McVety (Catelyn); Clark & Shelby Wyatt (Jolene and Jayla); John & Rachel Free (Evelyn); Bradley & Stacey Free (Audrina and Marisol); Janet & Jason Beatson (Janessa, Jillian and Jaclyn).

Also survived by a son Robert (Mary Helen) Free.

Predeceased by his only sibling, a brother William H. Free (2006), his sister-in-law Grace (McCracken, 1986) Free and by Margaret’s parents Roy (1959) and Janet (Dickson-Watson, 1960) Nichol.

Harvey was laid to rest beside Margaret in Dorchester Union Cemetery. A private family interment service has taken place.

In memory of Harvey, donations to the London Regional Cancer Program would be appreciated by the family.
