Janet Rose Holmes (née Walker)

Surrounded by her family, Janet Holmes of London passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, May 20, 2026. Born in West Lorne, Janet was in her 91st year. Janet was the beloved wife of the late Jim Holmes (2003). Loving mother to her sons Mike (Angie), Ron (Carol), and Phil (Denise). Dear grandma to David (Hannah), the late Ashley (2025), Scott (Kayla), Sarah (Rupert), Josh, Michael (Kristi), Amanda, Matthew, Mackenzie, Brandon and her great grandchildren, James, Brianna, Orabella, Zephaniah, Carter, and Emery. Also loved dearly by her multiple family and friends. Janet was predeceased by her parents, brothers, and sisters.

Janet was a woman of faith and attended both Egerton and Sunrise Baptist Churches until her later years. In her youth, Janet was a fastball pitcher and later became a Blue Jays fan. She loved hockey, cheering for everyone but the Maple Leafs, and her word search puzzles. Janet also had a deep love for her dog Buddy (2025).

Cremation has taken place. Janet’s life will be celebrated at Northview Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 1490 Highbury Avenue North, on Saturday, June 13, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., with remembrances to be shared at 2:00 p.m. A private interment of Janet’s remains will take place at Gillies Cemetery, West Lorne, at a later date.
