John Breau
December 6, 2025
With family by his side on Saturday, December 6, 2025 at University Hospital, London, John Breau passed away at the age of 92. Loved husband of Noela for 70 years. Dear father to Paul (Teresa), Anne (John), Donna (Ray), and Denise (Ed). Cherished Pepere to 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandson. Brother to Gerald (Helen), Emery (late Marie) of Ontario, Viola Caissie (late Louis), Robert, Dianne Bastarache (late Guy) of New Brunswick, sisters-in-law Aurella of Port Colborne, and Annie of Nova Scotia. Predeceased by parents Amedee and Emerise (née LeBlanc) Breau; grandson Adam; brothers Laurie, Joseph, Ulysse, Leo (Bobbi); sisters Louise (Sam), and Jeanne. John will also be remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends.
It was nothing for John to say “let’s go” when he finally came home from working for weeks out of town. Before we knew it, the car was magically packed up in what seemed to be minutes, and we were off to New Brunswick almost non-stop. Dad was a very proud Acadian who loved visiting with family and friends back home. He enjoyed “real” country music, couldn’t get enough seafood, loved to socialize, and oh boy, he had the gift of gab. John was always ready to tell his jokes; some inappropriate (sorry for that). Heaven forbid if you even thought about changing the channel when wrestling was on; you just may have found yourself in a Figure Four Leglock followed by a Sleeper Hold.
Right from the get-go it was instilled in us kids; from both Dad and Mom to use your manners, be respectful, be compassionate, and help if you can. We hope we did you proud.
To everyone at University Hospital and St. Joseph’s Health Care, we are are grateful for the exceptional attention given. To Dr. F. Muia, a heartfelt thank-you for your continued care throughout the many years; our Dad thought highly of you. The words and support that our family has received has been so overwhelming and sincerely appreciated. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will take place at a later date.

John and my dad Gerald LeBlanc were just 16 when they left Irishtown, taking the train from Moncton and setting out to build a life in Ontario. Dad always said they were like two country bumpkins, wide-eyed at the lights and possibilities, stepping off that train, looking at each other, and smiling—ready for whatever came next. In those early days, they scraped together cars and drove back and forth from New Brunswick, to Ontario long before four-lane highways, following the old Trans-Canada through small towns, chasing freedom and adventure. Those trips were just the beginning of a lifetime of memories. Over the years, they shared countless drinks, great parties, and unforgettable road trips. No matter where life took them, they stayed close, their friendship never fading. John Breau wasn’t just a friend—he was like a brother. Their bond was built on laughter, loyalty, and a shared journey that started when they were just kids with big dreams. On behalf of my dad, thank you, John, for a lifetime of friendship. You will always be remembered, and you will always be missed.
