Jose Eduardo Furtado Lima
April 26, 1949 - November 4, 2020
Jose Eduardo Furtado Lima passed away peacefully, at home, surrounded by family in his 72nd year. Beloved husband of Irene. Loving father of Nancy Howe (Kevin), Elizabeth Aarts (Kevin), Jeff Lima and the late Gilbert Lima (1999). Much loved grandfather of Ethan and Cloe Howe and Calista, Kayden and Addison Aarts. Dear brother of Tiago Delima, Nicolina Benfeito, Maria Jose Camara, Manuel Lima, Esmeralda Branco and Jack Lima. Predeceased by his parents Liberta Furtado Teves Lima and Manuel Furtado Lima. Joe was a parishioner of Mary Immaculate Parish and Holy Cross Parish, and was also a member of the Portuguese Club of London and Local 793 Union of Operating Engineers. Thank you to Dr. Scott Ernst’s team at the London Regional Cancer Program, Dr. Kirk Hamilton, Dr. Ed Stack, Dr. Jill Chettiar and the palliative care team, the Paramed team, and to all of our family and friends who have given us strength, love, and prayers along this journey. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 6th from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Northview Funeral Chapel, 1490 Highbury Avenue North, London. A private Funeral Mass will be conducted on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at Mary Immaculate Parish. A private interment will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery. Please note: as per the directive of the Bereavement Authority of Ontario, attendance numbers will be restricted. Please be aware that COVID-19 protocols are in place which may preclude some from being able to attend and masks are mandatory at both indoor and outdoor services.
