Karen Ann Firby
April 8, 1961 - June 10, 2025
Peacefully with family by her side, Karen passed away at Victoria Hospital in London, on June 10th, 2025 in her 65th year. Cherished wife of Larry Firby for 18 years and friends for 10 years before marrying.
Loving mother of Crystal, Jennifer, Monica MacNeil and Paul Layland. Adored grandmother (fondly called “Mema”) of Kaliah, Jayla, Nya, Rhys, and Bodon.
Caring daughter of George T. Layland and thoughtful sister to George L. Layland, Heather Layland, and Andrew Layland.
Karen’s greatest joy was being with her family – loving them, caring for them, and always putting others first.
Her laughter was contagious and she had a way of brightening every room she entered.
She found deep purpose in her work with Compassion Canada, where she helped make the world a little brighter for children in need.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Karen’s Life will be held at Northview Funeral Chapel, 1490 Highbury Avenue North, London on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at 1:00 p.m., with visitation 1 hour prior to the service.
Karen’s favorite flower was a pink carnation and in honour of Karen’s Celebration of Life, everyone will be provided with one.
