Katherine “Kathryn” Trudell Baran

Katherine, or Kathryn as she preferred, was an only child. Wife of the late Mitchell Baran (2015), she will be lovingly missed by sons, George Baran (Cathy Pena) Matthew Baran (Amy Wang and daughter Jessica Guo) and by daughters, Kristen Baran (Mitch Kates) and Danielle Baran (Glen Lexovsky). She will also be missed by her sisters-in-law Stella (Baran) Neziol (Leo Neziol, deceased). Also pre-deceased by brothers-in-law John Baran (Adele), Jean (Baran) Mitchell (Paul). She is also survived by and fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Kathryn was a devoted wife and mother who loved gardening, painting, nature and animals. She was a creative force and had a wonderful sense of humour. She also had a caring heart and always tried to help and support those in her life. She had a great deal of empathy for those in need or suffering, and supported many chartable health and human service causes in the local community, both personally and through The Mitchell And Kathryn Baran Family Foundation. Special thanks to the wonderful staff at Home Instead Homecare who supported her in her last days. Thanks also goes to longtime business and household support staff of Kim Powell, Peter Sanio, and Bill Hanning.
A private family service will take place at Northview Funeral Chapel, 1490 Highbury Avenue North, London. A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to My Sisters’ Place would be welcome.

Dear Baran Family, I'm sorry for the loss of your mother Kathryn. I had the opportunity to meet Kathryn and your father Mitchell at a gallery event I attended with my father many years ago. Dearest Dani, Glen, Kristin, Mitch, George, Matt, Kim & your families, So very sorry to hear of your mom's passing. I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to know and care about both your dad and Kathryn. They both leave behind lasting legacies to be fondly remembered by many. I know you cared deeply for and did all you could for her, especially in her final days. She will be incredibly missed. Thinking of you all. Take good care.
