Kevin Robert Magill

January 25, 2023

Peacefully with family by his side, on Wednesday, January 25, 2023. Beloved Fiancé of Mandy-Lynn Dezso for 9 years. Loving father of Meaghan Magill, Kayla (Brad) Stern and Brennan Dezso.  Proud Papa of Lucas Stern and GrandPaw to Koufax and Cocoa.  Adored son of Jackie Stephenson. Cherished brother of Christine Fortier (George) and Mark (Leslie) Stephenson. He will also be missed by many cousins, aunts, nephews and friends. Predeceased by his dad Cliff Stephenson, his nephew Sean Stephenson, his uncle Laurent, and aunt Delphine.

Kevin had a larger than life personality that touched many hearts. He was always there with a joke or a song to put a smile on your face.  He had a soft heart for people and animals, and Kevin was always willing to help whenever he could.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 30, 2023 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Northview Funeral Chapel and Cremation Centre, 1490 Highbury Avenue North, London, and on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. where the celebration of Kevin’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m.

Sincere condolences to the family on the loss of your future husband, dad, and son. Kevin spent a lot of time at our place and was practically family. We'd reconnected on social media the last few years and he still had that great sense of humour! Another good man gone too soon. God bless!

Our deepest heartfelt condolences to Mandy-Lynn, Brennan, mom Jackie, brother Mark (Leslie), sister Christine (George) and especially, the lights of his life, daughter Kayla (Brad), grandson Luke and daughter Meaghan. I first met Kevin more than 49 years ago on the first day of school in grade 6 in 1974 after he and his family had moved to Welland from Port Colborne. He had a wicked sense of humour and was just such an incredible artist! Kevin was unapologetically his own person which made authentic people gravitate to him. We were inseparable for many years and we were often mistaken for brothers. We had a lot in common, including our fanaticism about the Beatles. There are just so many wonderful memories to cherish of summer vacations spent together and long, full day adventures by bicycle out of town. Rest easy now, brother! 💙

Kevin was an amazing table drummer in high school. He hated dancing but man could he keep the beat with his hands. I didn't have many friends in high school and was a loner who was often the brunt of jokes and disdain. Kevin didn't care. He was always a good and kind friend and there to give me a good laugh. When I came out of my shell Kevin was still an amazing friend. We tried to keep in touch after I moved away but life... The world lost a wonderful soul this week but heaven gained an angel.

I went to high school with Kevin and remember hanging out in the library at lunch time ... I seem to remember that he was particularly fond of Mad Magazine and Punch cartoons! I was so sorry to hear of his passing. I remember a great guy who was always trying to make people laugh and look out for everyone. As someone else said, he was one of the good guys! It sounds like he had a good life and I'm sure he will be missed.
