Kevin Suzuki
January 31, 2026
Kevin Suzuki passed peacefully, on Saturday, January 31st, 2026 at University Hospital in London, Ontario, in his 74th year. Survived by his wife Marlies, sister April, brother Brent (Paraluman) and nephew Brenen. He was predeceased by his parents Wally and Eileen Suzuki. Kevin will be missed by friends who became like family.
Kevin’s passion was golf and he was always on the look-out for a better driver and putter. He also had a keen interest in Harley motorcycles and thoroughly enjoyed going for long rides in the summer and occasionally in Tucson, Arizona when he and Marlies visited April. He also loved trying new restaurants and playing cards with friends and family. He was born in Montreal and it was there, in his teenage years, he played in a garage band and also dabbled in auto mechanics. In 1980, he was hired by 3M Canada and moved with Marlies to London, Ontario. In 1985, he decided he wanted to be his own boss, so with three friends in Kitchener, he joined Video Works. A few years later, he went solo in London and started Video Works London Inc. His work ethic was outstanding and he gained the respect of his clients, most of whom continued to work with him over the next 40 years.
In 2024, he was diagnosed with tonsil cancer, which he survived, but in September, he needed surgery on his throat and never fully recovered. Through his courageous battle with cancer, Kevin kept his sense of humour and love for life, even during the most challenging times.
Cremation has taken place. Donations in Kevin’s memory may be made to Verspeeten Family Cancer Centre, the Diabetes Care Program through St. Joseph’s Health Care Foundation, the Kidney Foundation of Canada or the Humane Society London and Middlesex.

Kevin and Marlies were never just neighbors; they were family, the kind of family everyone hopes to have next door. Kevin will be remembered for his kindness and the generous help he gave to our community. We will always remember him busy in his garage, surrounded by his tools and projects, creating and helping. We shared so many beautiful memories that our family will cherish forever. Our hearts are broken by this immense loss, and our thoughts are with Marlies, April, Brent, and Brenen. Kevin will always be watching over you from a peaceful green place, smiling as he swings his golf club. He will be deeply missed and always remembered. Our hearts go out to you.
