Larry Shoebottom

On January 27, 2024, Larry passed peacefully holding his wife’s hand after a short struggle with malignant melanoma. Planning to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary in December this year, Pat cared for him at home with a lot of loving help from their sons and their families: Mike, Caroline, Ellie, Harrison and Bryan, Crystal, Charlie, Ruby. We thank our Bayshore Home Care team Keerstin, Elliott, Lakhvir, Deb, Jesna, Nick, VON PSW Madee and Dr. Sardar Ahmad for their care and compassion. Larry was predeceased by his parents Len (2008) and Dorothy (2014). Larry’s career began at Fleetway Forty until he became a Tool & Die Maker working at Universal Engineering until his retirement in 2001. He spent his holidays and retirement boating and camping with family and friends with his favourite places being Georgian Bay and Texas. His special pleasure was playing and goofing around with his grandkids.
Cremation has taken place and his ashes will be interred in Siloam Cemetery at a later date. Family and friends are welcome to share memories and celebrate Larry’s life at Northview Funeral Chapel, 1490 Highbury Avenue North, on Sunday, February 4, 2024 from 12 – 3 p.m. If desired, memorial donations to the London Regional Cancer Program would be greatly appreciated in memory of Larry.

Sincere sympathy to Pat & family. I only just learned of Larry’s passing. He was Shoey’s favourite cousin and I will remember him for his great smile and his sense of humour. Peace be with you all. I will be making a donation to the cancer program.
