Mary Anne Denboer (nee Deller)

March 1, 2022

Peacefully at home, on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, with family by her side, Mary passed away in her 72nd year. Beloved wife of the late John Denboer and loving mother to Jeff Denboer and Bonnie Denboer. Dear sister of Bob (Dot) Deller, Ruth Hudson, and Betty (Greg) Sutherland. Also loved by her many family and friends. Predeceased by her parents Bill and Elva Deller and her brother-in-law Keith Hudson. Cremation has taken place.

A family memorial service will be held at Zion United Church.

Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Mary are asked to consider the London Regional Cancer Program or Zion United Church

The third of four siblings, Mary was raised in a loving and close-knit family.  Originally residing in London, the family eventually made the move into the countryside, where hard work and discipline were a part of everyday farm life.  This served Mary well when she graduated high school and immediately went into Nursing School, followed by starting a career in the field.  She was perfectly suited for such an occupation, as it represented the woman she was at her core: an intelligent, kind, patient caregiver who anyone could depend on, and a competent devoted co-worker of great integrity.

When the time came for her to begin her own family, she once again displayed the same love and determination she learned so early, making the switch to a part-time position so she was readily available to be the steady rock of her family.   She freely gave her support, consolation, and was the epitome of unconditional love.

As the years passed, she was faced with challenges again and again, and never wavered in her dedication and sacrifice, especially when it came to her family.

All who were fortunate enough to know her recognize how very privileged they were to have her in their life.

Bonnie and Jeff and family, I am deeply sorry for the loss of your Mom. She was truly and wonderful kind soul and I am very fortunate to have had her as a coworker and friend. Her love for her family was always evident. She was one of the best nurses I know. Sadly the last few years have kept the “breakfast club” at bay. Please take comfort knowing that I and many others will always have Mary in our hearts and may you soon be comforted by your memories.

Words can not express how saddened I am to hear of Mary’s passing. My thoughts are with you Jeff and Bonnie. She was so very proud of you both. I have known Mary for a very long time. I first worked with her in War Memorial Children’s Hospital. She was an amazing person, a kind and caring nurse and so dedicated to her family and friends. I will miss our breakfast dates with the retirees.

I met Mary at the Victoria hospital school of nursing. We were to be the class of '71. Our 1st venture out into the real world. As country girls living next to each other in a dorm we bonded. I considered her one of my best friends although I lived so very far away. She spent a lot of time canning from the bounty of the family farm. She had such beautiful red hair. Her children, Jeff and Bonnie were the love of her life. May she RIP. Donna (Hawthorne) Kasper
