Meena Saparia

April 1, 1933 - November 26, 2021

Passed away peacefully the morning of Friday, November 26th, 2021. Her legacy lives on through her husband, Narayandas, her daughter Neesha, her son-in-laws Rajnikant and Raju, and her granddaughters Sukhie and Roshni. She was preceded in passing by her eldest daughter Krishna. Born in Pipalia, Gujarat, India to Harjibhai and Puriben Kaneria, she was the third of seven siblings, Manibhai, Jamkuben, Ramnikbhai, Muktaben, Mansukhbhai, and Kantaben. She moved to Uganda after marrying Narayandas in 1955 where they had their daughters. They moved together to England where she first made feather hats for the Queen Mother and later worked as an IT supervisor at Barclays Bank. She and Narayandas eventually moved to London, Ontario to be closer to Krishna. A senior teacher of Vipassana meditation, Meena was renowned for her immense kindness, warmth, and generosity, and everyone who met her experienced the feeling of being completely at ease and deeply cared for. Her friends and family hope to carry on Meena’s mettā— her loving kindness— for generations to come.
