Mollie Langdale

December 14, 1933 - September 21, 2021

It is with heavy hearts, that we announce the passing of Mollie Heather Langdale (nee Cook), of London, Ontario, on September 21, 2021, at the age of 87.  After years of battling various ailments, Mollie died peacefully in her home, with her beloved husband, Roy, by her side.

Mollie was born on December 14, 1933, in Maidenhead, England to Violet Cook.  She remained in Maidenhead throughout her childhood, her beauty eventually catching the eye of her beloved Roy Langdale, at the age of 17.  The two finally met paths at a local pub, in 1951, and after many adventures and fun times together, the two were married on March 27, 1954.

Mollie moved, with her family, to London, Ontario in 1966, where she lived happily for many decades.  She worked several years for Royal Insurance, before officially joining Roy’s advertising company, McLang Associates, as the accountant, in 1987.  Mollie retired when they sold the business in 1992.  In her spare time, Mollie, enjoyed researching her family genealogy, travelling with her husband, and spending time with family and friends.  She was a passionate gardener, who loved dancing and playing the organ.  She was a member of The Scottish Club, as well as Brunswick Huron Bowl leagues, for many years.

Mollie was giving and compassionate, kind and welcoming.  She also had excellent grammar and great accuracy with a wooden spoon!  She told the best stories to her grandchildren, Minnie Marusa being the favourite; and was very proud of all her family.

Mollie is survived by her husband, Roy, children Sharon Curtis and Martin Langdale (Lori), grandchildren Lindsay (Mike), Jenna (Kurt), Troy (Sam), and Tara, along with four precious great-grandchildren, Kevin, Peyton, Autumn, and Jack.  She will be greatly missed by her sister, Shirley (Maurice) Howard, and many nieces and nephews, in England.  Mollie is predeceased by her mother and stepfather, Violet and John Comley, and dearest son-in-law, Kevin Curtis.

The family would like to thank Dr. Stack, the staff at Parkwood Hospital, and all the PSW’s who have helped Mollie through the years.  While she will be dearly missed, we know that she is at peace now and no longer in pain.  Donations, on behalf of Mollie, can be made to the Humane Society of London and Middlesex.

A private family funeral will be held at Northview Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, followed by interment at St. Peter’s Cemetery.  To leave an online condolence, make a donation, or share a memory please click on the links above the obituary or click the drop-down arrow for mobile devices.

I send condolences on behalf of the participants, volunteers and staff from the exercise class at Parkwood. Mollie was a big part of a lively Tuesday group. Always interested in the people around her, even on a bad day Mollie wanted to chat and push through. On the good days she would light up the room and entertain with stories and opinions on almost anything. Truly a delight to know and call a friend. She will be missed by all that had the pleasure to know her at Parkwood. Bill Gold
