Quietly, at Henley Place, London, ON, our Mother passed away in her 99th year. Muriel was the first born to Muir and Isa Campbell of Glasgow, Scotland. She was predeceased by her brothers Robert and Muir Campbell, and by her sisters, Sybil Cichon and Joy McAlpine. She is survived by her dear sister-in-law, Marion Campbell of Myrtle Beach, NC.

So loved by her children, Peter Aharan (Barb) of Ilderton, Susan Aharan of Toronto and her 5 grandchildren, Brandon (Janet) of Ilderton, Bryan (Kate) and Rachel Aharan of London, Kathryn Roby Peden and Ella Roby Peden of Toronto. Muriel was tickled to meet her 1st great-grandchild, Riley Aharan.

Muriel met and married Charles Aharan in Scotland in 1944. In 1946, Muriel was among the thousands of war brides landing at Pier 21 in Halifax who then travelled west on the “brides train” to join Charles and settle in London, Ontario.

Our Mum was a hard worker and excelled at anything she put her hand to. Always elegant, she mastered the art of sewing all her own clothes which left money in the budget for her extravagance. . .shoes.

Peter and Susan are truly grateful to the Fanshawe Park team at Henley Place for the loving attention and care she received since 2017. The heroic efforts of all the Henley workers in the last months, created a stable, Covid free environment that enabled us to be with our Mum at the end. There could be no greater gift.

Cremation has taken place; Mum’s final resting place will be in her beloved Scotland. In lieu of flowers, donations to Mission Services of London would be appreciated.
