Noel Keith Douglas

February 4, 2024

At Sprucedale Care Centre, Strathroy, on February 4, 2024, Noel Keith Douglas of Ilderton, peacefully passed away at the age of 82. Beloved husband of Maxie (McCullough) for 55 years. Father of James and Rachel Douglas and Lisa and Jamie Bell of Rochester, Michigan. Grandfather of Sydney and Noah Bell, and Noelle and Luke Douglas. Fondly remembered by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brother Robert, sister Margaret and parents, Keith and Ruth Douglas. Noel worked as a plumber in his early years as well as on the family farm. He ventured into water purification and enjoyed working with his many customers. Noel was kind, loving and loved to help. He loved to tell stories of water purification. He would quite often give directions to people to fix their own plumbing issues over the phone. He was always ready to lend a hand if needed. A special thanks to the staff at Sprucedale Care Centre for their care and compassion. The funeral service will be held at Northview Funeral Chapel, 1490 Highbury Avenue North, on Friday, February 9, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. with visitation one hour prior. Interment to follow at Telfer Cemetery.  Those wishing to donate in memory of Noel are asked to consider Melville United Church or a charity of their choice.

Noel was the best neighbour you could ever ask for. If we ever needed help, Noel was always there. You never needed to ask him to come over to fix a problem, he would always say "I will be right over to have a look at it". Noel was gifted with many talents. He was a Jack of All Trades. His biggest talent though was the gift of "helping others". Our sincere condolences to you Maxie, Jamie, Lisa and the grandkids. May he rest in peace in the Kingdom of God.

We are truly saddened to learn of Noel's passing. He was a great guy to know and we had some super times together. Our very first cruise was with Noel and Maxie and Andy and Diane (photo from cruise attached). Had some really good times at their places and elsewhere. Visited him just a few weeks ago. He will be really missed by all. Our deepest condolences to Maxie and to all the family.
