Paul Taylor

March 2, 2022

Paul courageously lost his battle of illness and pain with stoic grace and humour.

Sadly missed by his parents: Graham and Penny; his brothers: twin, Mark (Kim) and Stephen (Caroline); his best friend Kim; and his children Rebecca and Cody. Also missed by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins in the UK, New Zealand, and Australia; as well as by his many workmates within the EMS.

Thank you to Dr.Whynot and all of the amazing staff and friends at Country Terrace, Komoka.

A celebration of life will be held at Northview Funeral Chapel, 1490 Highbury Avenue North, on Sunday, March 6, 2022, from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Paul be made to Project Trauma Support (PTS), a Canadian charity dedicated to helping first responders and military members/veterans who have been psychologically injured by their service. Paul was very much connected to this program and PTS peer support members were among his closest friends. Donations can be made on the website www.projecttraumasupport.com

Heartfelt condolences to family, friends and coworkers. Working with Paul at dispatch was always an adventure, he made you laugh but always made sure that the crews were well taken care of throughout their shift. During my time working with Paul he wasn't afraid to challenge management and ministry rules that seemed contrary to crew and dispatch staff safety. He managed critical incidents with a sense of calm, confidence and ease that made us want him to be in the room to take over or support us. He had an irreverent sense of humour that kept you on your toes, made the shift go faster, and taught me to laugh at myself. He always had your back, helped me learn the dispatching ropes, scolding me to stop making everything a code 4. You patiently made me a better dispatcher. Paul, you are missed, but what gives me solace is that you and Potsy are now together creating your next hijinx and laughing at all of us. Regretfully I couldn't attend the visitation. To Paul's family, please accept our deepest condolences. I would like you to know that all the kind words and thoughts that you will receive will very much come short of the standard that Paul provided for EMS. Always cool and kind. I was very happy to run into him at Parkwood to thank him personally and again share a laugh. We are sorry for your loss.

I had the pleasure of working with Paul several years ago at London CACC before transferring to Lindsay CACC. Paul was a great dispatcher who had the respect of his colleagues on the floor and on the road. His sense of humour and his friendship to many in the paramedic and dispatch services will be missed. Be at peace Paul.

~ Shelley Harrison

My sincere condolences go out to Paul's family, friends and EMS family. I worked at London CACC with Paul from 1988 - 1990, and spoke many of times while working at Wallaceburg CACC. Paul made a stressful shift so much more bearable with his humor, and funny quirks. He had the publics interest always at fore front. Always had the backs of EMS paramedics, and his EMS dispatcher family. I will say prayers for all, I will miss you Paul. Thankyou for making me a better person, EMS dispatcher. My Uncle Paul was the uncle I knew the most. Being around him was always a fun time and I loved hearing what he had to say. From taking me on drives in his new car and showing me around the area, to telling me stories from his past, I look back and value all the time I was able to spend with him even though we were separated across provinces. I’ll always have him in mind for the rest of my life

Paul suffered through so much. He was a good friend and we will miss all his visits and phone calls. I have known Paul so many years and have great memories. It was difficult for us to be so far away in Florida near the end, but talked on the phone as long as possible. Our condolences to his family and Kim. Thanks Penny for keeping us informed. May Paul Rest In Peace.

~ Peter & Brenda Allen

Dear Paul, such a loving nephew, nothing was too much trouble whenever we came to visit. Your sense of humour is your gift to us, to keep forever in our hearts.

~ Lally and Irve Mackenzie, London UK

Peaceful at last to suffer no more. Paul was one of the best dispatchers; always checking in on the safety of us Paramedics while on scene. It was greatly appreciated & never went unnoticed. I will miss our chit chats in between calls. Sending love to the family during this difficult time. You are in my thoughts.

My condolences to your family. Paul was a great co-worker but most of all a friend. I am so saddened that covid made things so difficult for everyone to see friends and family. I wish I would have been able to say a proper goodbye.. I am sorry for that. I hope you are at peace and pain free. You are truly missed already. ❤
