Petrona Del Carmen Ortega

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Petrona Del Carmen Ortega, on April 10, 2026, at the age of 101.

Petrona, lovingly known to her family as Mama Carmen, was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who always placed others before herself. She was the heart of our family – a woman of deep faith whose love knew no limits. While her passing was unexpected, we take comfort in knowing she is now at peace in the presence of the Lord.

Her warmth, strength, and unwavering love created a home filled with compassion and faith. She leaves behind a legacy rooted in family, devotion, forgiveness and enduring love that will continue to guide us.

As a devout Catholic, Mama Carmen lived her life guided by unwavering faith in God and devotion to the Virgin Mary. She found strength in prayer and reading her bible, and joy in attending daily Mass. Her faith was the foundation of her life – powerfully shaping the way she loved, forgave, and cared for others.

She is lovingly remembered by her children Marta, Azucena, Salvador, Gerardo, Ana, Flora and the late Manuel Osmaro, as well as her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is reunited in eternal rest with her beloved husband, Gertrudis “Tulio” Ortega, and her son, Manuel Osmaro.

Visitation will be held at Northview Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 1490 Highbury Avenue North, London on Friday, April 17, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Francis – St. Martin Parish, 46 Cathcart Street, London, on Friday, April 17, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. Burial will take place at St. Peter’s Cemetery following the service.

Though she is no longer with us, her love remains in our hearts forever.
