Roy Zinn
June 6, 1943 - May 27, 2026
Peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospice of London on May 27, 2026, Roy Zinn (Jr.) passed away in his 83rd year. Survived and deeply missed by his wife, Carol Brady-Zinn, and his children Carter Zinn and Megan Zinn.
Roy was born in Ingersoll, Ontario on June 6, 1943 to the late Roy Zinn Sr. and Margaret Hurley. He was predeceased by his siblings John (Jack) Cannon, Sally Flood, Ella Layton, and Fern Wilson. He is survived by his aunt and uncle, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and neighbours.
Roy was devoted to his family, and they were his greatest joy. He had a 40-year career at Nevin Motors in Lucan where he put his strong mechanical skills and love of cars to good use. He was creative and had an incredible eye for household projects he could build himself.
Roy was a talented storyteller and would often have everyone, including himself, in fits of laughter as he reminisced. Even in his final days, he was laughing and sharing some of his favourite memories, being sure to add in a little good-natured teasing along the way.
Roy’s family would like to thank the care teams at University Hospital (4th floor, inpatient medicine) and St. Joseph’s Hospice of London for their compassionate care.
Roy approached the end of his life on his own terms and requested that the news of his illness not be shared until after his passing. He also requested that no visitation or funeral service take place. Those wishing to make a donation in Roy’s memory are asked to consider St. Joseph’s Hospice of London or a charity of their choosing.
