Sarah Kristen Jones

February 17, 1981 - January 6, 2021

Tragically on Wednesday, January 6, 2021, Sarah “Jonesy” Jones, 39, of London, passed away.

Wife and best friend to Mark Facciorusso and daughter to Anne and Baddrie Jones. Mother to Levi and Jordan. Sister of Timothy (Tammy) Jones and Jared (Michelle) Jones. Missed also by her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Josephine and John Facciorusso. Amazing Auntie “Rah Rah” to Tyger, Taylor, Kaleb, Paisley, and Madden.

It might sound trite, since this is an obituary, but it has to be said: Sarah loved her kids more than anything. She embraced her role as a mother. And like anything else she tackled in life, she excelled at it (although she’d never say that).

She had a smile that’d light up the room. But it wasn’t just about her smile. One friend said, “Just seeing her name light up my phone made me light up inside.”

There’s a good reason for that: Of all the adjectives people use to describe Sarah, “big-hearted” is at the top of everyone’s list. She was always open and available, and wanted to know how she could help. And you knew she truly meant it.

Family, friends, and colleagues also describe her as a “straight talker.” Honest. Genuine. Trustworthy.

If you asked for her opinion, she’d give it to you. But she wouldn’t hold back. She’d tell you “raw” whether or not something was a good idea but without any judgment. Because she wanted to truly help.

“We could always count on Sarah to be as real as the days are long, providing the best advice whether you wanted to hear it or not. Her wit, honesty, and compassion are only a few of the qualities I will miss most.”

Sarah had a knack for bringing out the best in people. But she also strived to bring out the best in herself. As managing editor of Business London Magazine, she was passionate about her work. And she used her platform to champion diversity and inclusivity and support local business, to help better her community and the world around her.

Sarah was admired by many. A friend sums it up well: “In my own life, I want to be more like Sarah.”

There was a lot about Sarah to love. Everything, in fact. She will be deeply missed, but her life will be celebrated and she will remain in our hearts forever.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service for the family will be held at Northview Funeral Chapel, 1490 Highbury Avenue North, London on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at 3:00 pm. The memorial service will be streamed online for those who are not able to attend in person. Please click the RSVP link to the left of the obituary to register for the online service. Those wishing to make a memorial donation in Sarah’s memory are asked to consider the Business and Professional Women Association.

To know Sarah is to know a young woman who loves her family a lot and who goes all out for what she believes. She has an awesome smile, always making people feel comfortable in her presence. I love to hear her response when we study the bible as a group. She has a way of drawing you into whatever topic is being discussed. I speak of her in the present tense because I know we'll meet again. May the peace and comfort only God can give rest on her entire family during this time. True love never dies.

This news breaks my heart. I have been thinking of the entire Jones family during this most difficult time. Sarah and I were very good friends in elementary school at Princess Anne and in high school at Laurier. So many great memories growing up and on the soccer field.

I have had alot of memories flood over me of our time as kids. I remember swimming alot at grammas and hanging out on the porch. I remember going for bike rides to the Macs when I was visiting you at your place, and hanging out in the basement or your room just doin girl cousin stuff. You sent me messages and love when I was going through a tough time last year, and we even had an impromptu quick chat meet outside my work and did a speedy updates of our lives last year which was awesome. Though we didn't see eachother enough as adults, as life. business and distance gets in the way... I always knew you loved me, and I love you too, forever Sarah. You were so proud of me for continuing school and rooted me on, and I will continue in my studies and reach my goals in your name. Rest in sweetest peace my lovely cousin. Peace be with all the family but especially those that were lucky enough to be closest to you. Reading what everyone has been saying about you makes me so proud to be your cousin

Our sincere condolences for the loss of your beautiful daughter, sister, wife and mother. Although we have known Sarah since she was little, she was always the apple of her daddy’s eyes. However to know her as a young woman , then married, was so lucky to have had Levi. She has shown us how much Mark, Jordan and Levi was truly her world and that family was everything. We will miss her dearly and especially her bringing Levi to Yonna’s house to visit, then calling on me just to say hello. We are here for all of you if needed.... Rick and Shelly

To know her is to love her, to love her is to know her! I remember my first visit to Canada, you came along with uncle Bal an you both were singing in the car, Down By The Bay.. You laughed so much while I was sitting listening to your infectious laughter that made me laugh so loudly. You made the rest of my vacation so much fun that I didnt want to leave. When you visited us in Trinidad I remember watching you in the kitchen preparing a grilled cheese sandwich for my brother an you were making it with so much love an there was a loving happy smile on your beautiful face. When we visited Canada two years ago you came by with your family an we sat at the table with the others an there was that smile again.. your smile will always be in my memory. Sarah I will miss you. Today a week ago ~ the empty place in our hearts mourns the loss of a true genuine soul as God's finger touched her and she now sleeps. We were truly blessed to know Sarah. Three days prior on Sunday, she & Mark dropped something special off at our home. I had a chance to tell her how much she & her family personally meant to us and that we genuinely loved her as family for so many reasons. She will always have a place in our hearts. We are devastated at her passing - a beautiful life interrupted. "Goodbyes hurt the most ~ when the book was still unfinished" . We chose to remember her legacy with a donation to Levi's Scholarship Fund.

I am deeply shocked and saddened by the loss of my beautiful and dear friend. It is hard to type in here as this is another step towards accepting this unimaginable and immense tragic loss... I extend my deepest and heartfelt condolences to the entire family. Levi was the apple of Sarah's eye! She absolutely adored her little boy, and vice versa. I am beyond heartbroken for little Levi... As one of her close friends she could confide in, it was clear that Mark was - and always will be - her true soul mate. That kind of love is forever and extends beyond our physical world. Sarah loved Jordan, her parents, and in-law family and shared stories about them. Sarah was always thinking about others and how she could help them. And that is how Sarah and I became friends. Sarah was a co-worker of mine at Nelson. She helped to "save" me while I was working under major duress a few years ago. She would come into my office and pull me out of my chair to make sure I got some fresh air, away from insane deadlines and our nasty managers. Those walks were precious and forged a strong friendship for years to come. Sarah would send me random text messages just to check on me and let me know she was thinking about me, such as "Hey girl, thinking about you lately. Wishing you love, light, and happiness." and "Hey lady, sending you some love this morning. xoxox" I am going to miss those random texts and the sound of Sarah's voice on our 2+ hour phone calls... :( I love you Sarah and I thank you for your kindness and true friendship over the years, and I miss you already. I can't believe your light is gone from our world. I know that Levi will be your proud legacy. You are a beautiful soul and Heaven is lucky to have you. <3 Adele xoxo

My deepest condolences to Pastor Jones and his family. She must be so happy now, but to those left behind I pray for strength and the hope of meeting her one day again under better circumstances. May the Lord bless you. Carmen Santos from Costa Rica, Misiones Intls.

Early on in my friendship with Sarah, I remember her telling me that her friends sometimes called her Mama Jones and as I got to know her, it quickly became clear why. She once told me that if you’re angry and need something to break, Christmas ornaments shatter in a very satisfying way. She knew this because she had sat with a friend smashing them once to help that friend get through something difficult. Sarah would check in on me often, and especially so these days as I’m pregnant. When I found out I was having a boy, she told me, “Little boys love their moms.” She loved Levi and Jordan so much. I remember wondering what Sarah was going to be like as a mom when she got pregnant with Levi. She was exactly as you’d expect — she was Mama Jones. The way I first learned about Sarah’s husband Mark was by her talking about how good looking he was. This wasn’t early on in their relationship or anything, they had been married for years. I remember her telling me that servers always hit on him. She wasn’t jealous, she was just saying — she thought her husband was hot stuff. Coworkers have a sort of special bond because they get to know intricate details about one another’s lives, even if they haven’t met their families or grown up with their friends. Because of this, one day, you go from being coworkers to good friends, which is exactly what happened with Sarah and I as we stayed in touch years after working together at Nelson (where I’d made her the designated driver in the case of a zombie apocalypse). I will miss Sarah checking in, our conversations about work and new opportunities (she was always doing so much, I used to laugh at her for it all the time), and I am sad that I will not be able to turn to her for advice about raising a little boy. She was loving, charismatic, and a great friend. I love you, Sarah and I will miss you very much. Jackie
