Shirley Eys (née Booth)
August 24, 2025
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Shirley at University Hospital, London on Sunday, August 24, 2025, at the age of 87.
Loving, and beloved, wife of Adrian Eys for 53 years. Shirley will be remembered and cherished by her son Mark and daughter-in-law Stephanie. She was also an affectionate and proud grandmother to Abby and Lena. Shirley was the daughter of the predeceased Frank and Kathleen Booth and will be greatly missed by her sister, brothers, and extended family in Canada and the Netherlands.
Shirley was a lifelong educator who contributed greatly as a high school teacher, guidance counsellor, and vice-principal. Her longest serving tenure was within the London District Catholic School Board where she devoted her efforts to Catholic Central, Regina Mundi, and St. Thomas Aquinas high schools. She served as a mentor and friend to several female colleagues who were pursuing their own leadership roles within the school board.
Throughout her life, she enjoyed travelling extensively around the world with Adrian, and loved socializing with her friends and family through parties, card-playing, lunches, golf, or over a glass of wine. She was also an avid reader who was current with world events, and prioritized others’ well-being over herself.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 28th from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Northview Funeral Home, 1490 Highbury Avenue North, London, where the Celebration of Life will take place on Friday, August 29th at 11 a.m. Interment at St. Peter’s Cemetery, London.

I remember Shirley as a warm and welcoming person, and my late wife Elly and I shared valuable moments with her and Adrian. I followed the funeral service through livestream; it showed how important she was to so many. I wish Adrian and the whole family all the strength in this time of mourning. Love, Wil PS also love and best wishes from my sons Arthur and Vincent, and my daughters in law Bernadette and Sandra
