Terence “Terry” Wright
July 26, 1953 - April 21, 2026
At Victoria Hospital, in the quiet early hours of Tuesday, April 21, 2026, in his 73rd year, Terry Frederick Wright was called home to Heaven. His cousin and very close friend Will Macdonald as well as father-in-law Bernard Demers were surely there to welcome him at Heaven’s Gate.
Terry was the only son of the late Frederick and Marion Wright, who he adored. She referred to him as the apple of her eye. Terry was the devoted and loving husband of Lorraine (Demers) for over 36 years, a partnership built on deep love, loyalty, and unity. He was a proud and caring father to Michael (Caitlyn) and Chantale (Glenn), and an adoring grandfather to Levi, Warren, Joel, Brielle, Neil, Ruby, and Kaiden. He held a special excitement in his heart for the newest little grandson, soon to arrive.
He will be dearly missed by his sisters Cherie (Arend) and Valerie (John), along with their families, as well as his cherished Aunt Charmaine and her family. Terry will be lovingly remembered by his mother-in-law Marcelle, her sister Rosange, his brother-in-law Don, sister-in-law Fran, and their families.
He was an intelligent man whose curiosity in life and about the world never faded. He had an endless thirst for knowledge and a gift for sharing what he learned, often sparking meaningful conversations with anyone willing to engage, and inspiring those around him. He always had a song lyric that related at the ready, a movie line or a joke to make you feel at ease, or a piece of wisdom picked up along the way to share. A man with a sharp wit and excellent sense of humour, a conversation with Terry always left you thinking and feeling positively.
A hardworking and determined man, Terry successfully ran a carpenter business for many years before taking his own advice and continuing education, earning his full A certificate as a building inspection official through George Brown College. His passion for learning continued at Fanshawe College, where he pursued various courses—including advanced Spanish, a language he was determined to learn after falling in love with South America, visiting on a few occasions.
In life’s next chapter, Terry became a reliable rural and suburban mail contractor with Canada Post, serving faithfully for over eight years. His kindness brought special connections with his customers along his route. He loved to occasionally share special interactions and funny stories.
Terry found joy in life’s simple and meaningful pleasures. Swimming and barbecuing for the family in the summer, or cheering on his beloved Montreal Canadiens in the winter. He loved music and playing his guitar, enjoyed adventures in his Miata, and cherished time surrounded by family. His presence brought warmth, laughter, and light wherever he went.
Above all, Terry will be remembered for the way he lived—with strength, positivity, humour, and unwavering perseverance. Remaining positive, he demonstrated great courage working through health challenges the last few years.
He touched countless lives through his wisdom, his kindness, and his deep love for others. To those who knew him, he was not only an inspiration, but a true hero in everyday life.
Though we grieve his loss, we find comfort in knowing he is at peace in the presence of the Lord. As his beloved artist, John Lennon, once wrote, “Love is all you need”. His love, laughter, and unwavering spirit will be forever carried in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Visitation will take place at Northview Funeral Home, 1490 Highbury Avenue North, London on Monday, May 4, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. where the memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at 11:00 a.m.. A private family interment of cremated remains will follow.

I am so deeply sorry for your loss. The patience, encouragement, and constant support you showed helped him through so many difficult moments, and your care made an incredible difference in his life and recovery. Your dedication was truly remarkable and reflected the deep bond you shared. I hope you can find some comfort in knowing how much your love meant to him every single day. Terry's kindness and good sense of humor will remain cherished forever. Thinking of you and your family during this heartbreaking time and sending you my sincerest condolences and caring thoughts.
So very sorry for your loss. Terry was always a pleasure to come and see. I can really appreciate how hard he worked to improve his abilities once home and it was inspiring to see him be able to stay in his home despite his significant challenges. As someone who goes into a lot of homes for work I want Lorraine to know just what an amazing support she was to Terry. I don't see that level of support very often and she really went above and beyond what most people are able to manage to help Terry thrive. Terry was very lucky to have your support Lorraine. Thinking of Lorraine and his family and sending my care. Hugs
Lorraine, My colleagues and I are very sorry to hear about Terry's passing. We always appreciated seeing his big smile and will miss him. He was certainly an accomplished man throughout his life. He was fortunate to have such a loving and devoted wife especially through the challenging past years. We are thinking of you and your family during this difficult time.
I had the chance to meet Lorraine and Terry last summer, and what struck me most was how deeply they love one another—it’s truly palpable. The warmth, respect, and joy they share together is something special and inspiring to witness. Their bond is a beautiful reminder of what it means to truly cherish and support each other.
My condolences to Terry's family at this time. Terry and I went to grade school together at St Roberts in the east end. Even at that young age, Terry had a quick wit and was extremely funny! We lived in the same neighbourhood and subsequently shared the walk home. His obituary allowed for me to view what his world had been like in adulthood and he lived it well. Godspeed Terry!
